My new work focuses on people and their journey. I create a landscape for my figures to pass through, on their way to another unknown place. They are rarely alone in this journey, often with a loved one or just a small group. They often move through with purpose and determination. Sometimes they pause and communicate with their companions.
Their landscapes are part of them, part of their bodies. Their landscape connects them together. They are immersed in the colours and shapes and they move through them effortlessly.
Shadows and light are important in my work. The long shadows cast by low light add another dimension to the journey, another undiscovered place.
